London Marathon In April thousands of runners take to the streets of central London for one of the most gruelling challenges of running just over 42 Kilometres to raise funds for charities. For years dedicated individuals have gone through the sacrifice of training and preparation to join with Links as we confront poverty. Their hard work and dedication has meant transformation for communities around the world. This year, when Joe Gisbey went to meet our runners following the event, he interviewed one of them named Greg George. When asked, ‘What would you say to other people thinking about doing the marathon?’, this was his response: It is really worth it. I think doing the London Marathon is a very good choice because of the amazing support. Everyone is so generous in their support and shouting for you along the way and it really makes it worth it, and you feel like you are part of a bigger thing. I think it’s just about people and relationships and friends and the whole sense of community which is great because I know that Links - the ethos of the charity - is to partner with people and to work with them in terms of relationships and that’s what is so important. I think it really fits with the whole ethos of the charity and that is what the Marathon is about as well. - Greg George If you, or someone you know, would love to run for Links in the London Marathon next year, it is never too early to sign up.
