The Best View Comes After the Hardest Climb

Our CEO, Joe Gisbey, is turning 40 this year, (surely not I hear you say!) and, to celebrate, he is planning to climb Kilimanjaro alongside our African Region Co-ordinator, Sam Walker, and Dani Turner from Bunches. (www.bunches.co.uk.)

They are setting off for their climbing adventure to Tanzania at the end of November, taking the Machame route. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the south, beginning with a short drive from Moshi to Machame Gate. The path will lead them through the rain forest to Shaira Plateau. Here, many of Kilimanjaro's routes converge. Then the route turns east and traverses underneath Kilimanjaro's Southern Ice Field on a path known as the Southern Circuit before summitting from Barafu. Descent is made via the Mweka route.

They will be hiking a total of 37 miles over 7 days, climbing as high as 19,341 feet. The trail is is considered difficult, steep and challenging but with amazing and rewarding views!

This is an incredible challenge that they are undertaking, something that is going to take a lot of discipline and endurance to complete, and we would love for you to encourage the three of them in their adventure! We are wanting to raise £40,000 for 40 years of Joe!

The money raised will make a huge difference and help to transform communities and individuals around the world in many ways. Please consider joining with us to raise some money and encourage Joe, Sam and Dani on the adventure of a lifetime.
